On Thursday 18th October, the young people from Brookside School had a brilliant opportunity to visit a well-resourced local farm called Wellgate Community farm. There was a guided tour organised for them in which they learned all about different animals and birds which are cared for by the farm staff and community volunteers.
The member of staff who conducted the guided tour was very helpful and was available to answer any questions. The students were also shown the different types of animal and bird feeds used at the farm and how the farm manufactures manure from the animal waste. At the end of the trip, we all had a group picnic and individually shared our experiences at the farm. Overall the young people had a positive experience on the trip and they found the tour very informative.
Please see below some of the pictures taken at the farm.
